furniture...

Furniture shopping.
And that marks another important milestone in our relationship. We did it without much fuss, just plenty of walking with me in 3 inch heels. Okay, wrong move, i forgot we were going shopping!

But really, the magnitude of it all didn't occur to us as much during the shopping and picking of stuffs along the way. It sank in much, much later. After a few drinks, both of us were in contemplative states until finally he snapped out of his reverie and voiced
" We're buying OUR furniture now, hun! ".
With that, i turned to him and smiled a wistful smile. He said what was in our hearts. This is just shopping for our boudoir in my parents' home. Imagine if it is for our OWN house. Shopping for stuffs for our OWN home.

I'm terribly excited. Truly, madly and deeply. In this whole wedding process, I have to say buying the bedroom furniture has got to be the BEST part of the planning stages. ;P...We held hands, took down measurements, made notes and gleefully made our purchases. It isn't about the buying that's exciting. It's the making of decisions as a couple. The true union of a partnership where each own's concerns no longer holds top priority. Instead, you value your partner's inputs, weighing them against your own. Not about who's right but more about WHAT's right.

I'm happy to report we went crazy. Quite literally. But a good kind of crazy. LOL. Is there even such a thing? Heh. One down, ten thousand more things to go. Nahh, i'm kidding.
But i would like to say, babe
* you know who you are * , i'm sOo happy with the results. My dream wedding card is fast becoming a reality. I absolutely ADORE it. It is just how i envisioned it to be. So our thanks to you for making it just the way we want it. * huGz *.

Laughing now. This blog is in danger of becoming
' Farah's Wedding Diary'
. Yes,planning for the wedding has taken precedence in my life. It has as i have the time now to let it. School's over, starting only in August. Nothing much elsewhere to distract me from concentrating on this labour of love. Writing about all of these experiences has enabled me to really understand its significance. All of it. Whether it's the sweat, the tears, joy, laughter, arguments and etc. For anyone getting hitched soon or thinking of it, hopefully you gain an insight into the whole package from these doodles of mine. A sneak peek of sorts so you know how it's like from this side of the fence . It isn't always a bed of roses BUT all i can say from my end of the wall,
cest magnifique!

Feeling all reverent now.
I thank YOU for being my beautiful partner, my joy and my heart.
So, can i have my walk-in wardrobe now?

a single rose...
11:20:00 PM
Watched 'Desperate Housewives' tonight. Who wasn't right? The narrator, the housewives' dead friend/neighbour said this,
" Only the rare man can appreciate the value of a single perfect rose. "

Indeed.

Only the rare man knows & even better, remembers that. To still court your girlfriend/partner/wife long after the honeymoon period is over. To give her the sweetest of gestures. It doesn't have to be anything expensive, just a thought that you are remembered and seen by him despite the daily routines, mundane conversations and etc. A very rare man indeed...

A little pensive now. Just by that single statement. Imagine being given a Porsche was it and wishing your hubby had given you the single rose instead? God, help me i hope to never feel that way. Most men are like that i think. They love you, pretty sure of it because of the small things they do like sending you home in the dead of the night, going up the lift with you just because you heard some spooky stories or picking you up after a night out with your pals. But hands up girls, i'm sure you'd all agree a single stalk of rose or a love note/letter slipped somewhere in your pocket would feel like heaven yeah? A gesture so simple yet with the capacity to be the grandest of all gestures.

So husbands, boyfriends or whatever your relationship might be, make that effort. GO that extra mile. Believe me, it'll go a long, long way. Possibly might even score you some very vital points and swing things in your favour eh?

But on second thought,a Porsche pun okay jugak eh? An LV Theda would just be dandy as well.

:P
