Childhood memories...
5:44:00 PM
So a favourite childhood book came to life in the reel screen & boy, disappoint it didn't! I mean, can you imagine a better Willy Wonka than the scrumptious indie king himself, Mr Johnny Depp?
Now i'm looking forward to another hot fave, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. Now i think THAT would be just as if not more spectacular than Charlie & the Chocolate Factory you know.

I still remember reading all these books. Enid Blyton's countless titles, Sweet Valley
*i know this is especially kental*, Roald Dahl and many more. It's so endearing to be reminded of all those times when i sneaked around underneath the covers with a teeny weeny torchlight to read a book. That's why now myopia is my middle name and contact lenses is the heart of my game. LOL. *corny*. But truly, i enjoyed reading those books. Dahl's whimsical confections will be shared with my future kids so they can experience the wonderment too.

Anyway, thanks to Cik Syidah for accompanying me for my first trip to the gym. It was enlightening as well as beneficial tau. Not to mention the eye candy as well hor. OK chope! That's all there was. Just looking around. Heh! But did you know Cik Syidah this one bodybuilder quite elderly wearing a bandana who greeted you when we came? He asked before i left, " Girl, where are you schooling eh?" Oh my god!
Girl? Schooling?
Gosh, that made my day you know. But still with or without that comment, gym was FAB! I enjoyed it plus i'm feeling a LOT less lethargic. Err, no pictures of me in gym gear for now. At least not until this butt is all firmed up baby. * giggles *

However, efforts went down the drain the very next day.

Why?

Yes, right you are. The latest offering from Pizza Hut; the triple cheese yummylicious pizza that i simply couldn't say no to. Darn it to gluttony!

But i feel my body saying thank you.
Ahh, the joys of comfort food. Worth all the exercising in the world to be able to indulge.
Heh.

Sunday Morninnnggg...
4:18:00 AM
What can i say?
Sunday...It has to be one of my favourite days. And it being one of my favourite days, i like to do most of my favourite things on this day. Usually, waking up late, drink a cuppa coffee whilst flipping leisurely through the papers.

While skimming the 'Lifestyle', i came across a picture of this bald man in black spectacles with a glimpse of blazing neon lights at the background. The picture came with an equally interesting story.

The man in the picture apparently is a volunteer with Action for Aids (AFA). He's a part of a project started by AFA to promote safety against Aids with volunteers scouring through red-light districts like Geylang, Desker and Keong Saik Road to approach sex workers with offers for free Aids screenings and condoms.

What impressed me immensely about this man was the fact that he, a well schooled man, was completely willing to plough through these sleazy streets with hopes of helping those less fortunate than he is. He tells us of his first initial attempts to approach the prostitutes and how their pimps would sometimes 'shoo' him and a fellow volunteer for fear of chasing potential customers away. But that didn't deter him of course. As time went by, he learnt to gauge which 'workers' are more receptive to his offers for the freebies and those who adamantly refuse.

I like what he said in the article. Something to the effect of
" Who am i to be judgemental? Not everything in life is black and white."
He tells the stories of a middle-aged woman who does it simply because she doesn't want to depend on her children, one who has cancer but refuses to go for chemotherapy for fear of ruining her looks and many, many more. It's so sad. It is.

We go through life, sometimes too sheltered to the point of ignorance. We judge without having the proper right to. Most times it's usually without the full and complete knowledge of the story. Now, THAT to me is an obscene crime. People don't do things for the reasons we think they do sometimes. Perhaps to judge is to say,
" Yes, i know everything. I see everything. And everything i see or say is right."
Only GOD has that right i think.

How do we change? Simple. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and perceptions right? Sure. But, at the same time, i guess we can all be more responsible. There *IS* a reason why God has given us only ONE mouth as opposed to two ears. We are meant to listen more instead of talking. A lot of problems can be solved if only we take the time to listen or read about the other party. Sometimes misjudgements or pre-conceived notions can do a lot to disrupt otherwise normally calm people.

So go on, if you had bought Sunday Times yesterday, take a moment to flip through their Lifestyle section and read the column.
We could all do with a little benevolence as well as compassion for our fellow beings despite their profession, race, religion or financial standards.

P.S.>>> I miss Mr Naz who's comfortably in ZzzzZzz-land right now.

P.S.S>>> Happy 8th Lyd & Happy 1st Chamuel :)
