I could not ask for more...

How do you know someone truly loves you?
How do you know which heartbeat is your own?
How do you know that this is the ONE?

Today, of all places , at work i truly realised how i married the right man. I knew then but it was reiterated today.
When i could not feel any worst. When emotions were strained and tears were controlled. How could you be so self-sacrificial? That simple message almost brought those tears to my eyes and you know how that is a miracle.

Thank you for not just the LVs or spy bags.
For being my comfort and pillar of strength. Those shoulders have given me so much and indulged all my whims. Best of all, thank you for giving me a choice. The freedom in that choice renders me devoid of any words to describe it.

I'm not writing this to boast or flaunt my husband's loving fancies or anything to that effect. I was in utter despair today and he was a beacon of hope no matter how cliched that sounds. Told me everything will be all right even when it seemed so bleak then. This is more of an exclamation of thanks. For being given this person who cares enough to sacrifice some of his dreams and ideals to give me mine.

No better gift than that.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart sweetheart.
I miss you terribly.

Rolling in dust and stones...
9:20:00 PM
What a busy week!
Work, weddings, a belated housewarming and a dear friend leaving Singapore all added to the activities of the week.

Yes, that poor girl has uprooted herself, leaving a great job at a magazine, family and friends to be with her husband who got a job all the way over in Romania. I guess her husband's her family now. You are in my heart sweetheart and we hope to see you again real soon. Either you come back here or we'll find you over there. :)

Talking about uprooting and all, it's gotten me thinking about living by ourselves. Okay, so it's a mini-uproot sans the flight tickets but still a huge step nonetheless because i'm so used to staying my parents. Having a mum to go home to who cooks and is such a comfortable figure that living on our own seems a tad lonely. This is especially so now that Naz is away again for work. Plus all that wiping, vacuuming, dusting and mopping seem like a ton of work!!

Then...
I start to think of having our personal space. Our very own which is about 3 to 4 times bigger than the room we're having now. A place where our own tastes, inclinations and desires take precedence. I've always wanted French windows although i don't think that's really going to work in a HDB flat. But i'll still settle for the deep blue walls, chic white furniture, lace curtains and of course not forgetting loads of candles and yellow lights.

I want to have a corner where all our pictures are hung. Pictures which highlight our passage together throughout our marriage. Pictures of us, our kids, first baby steps, days in kindy, graduation days and what nots. I will really like to see 20-30 years down the road, how Naz and i will change and how fun it would be to reminisce and laugh about our craggy skin and flabby tummies.

I think i'm beginning to warm up to the idea of living on my own. I'll miss my mum like crazy but i got to start somehow. I surmise she'll miss me too. Heh. Having someone to girly talk with because the boys @ my dad and brothers just won't understand! But i know she'll want us to have a place of our own where our kids will grow under our noses until it's time for them to have their own homes.

Time goes by so fast doesn't it?
One day i'm a girl in a pinafold uniform, the next i'll be dressing someone in that uniform, someday in my own home.

How cool is this life?

:)
